I can do 90% of my work from home. If I'm feeling contagious, I'll work from home. If I'm actually to sick to work (hasn't happened in 7-8 years) I'd call in.
I have more vacation time and personal days off than I can use. If there is 2' of fresh powder at Vail and I want a day off to go skiing, I'll call in (or IM) and tell them the truth. I put up with a lot of crap at work, they can put up with my skiing obsession.
