I think Doom is a rapper who has a very distinctive style and sound, but needs very solid beats to back him up - he is too chunky to get away on his own.
That being said, his work with both Mad Lib/Quasimoto and Rjd2 is a great listen and I am now very curious to hear his stuff with Dangermouse (I really like the Grey Album).

I'm sorry, but I couldn't disagree more strongly. Sage is nice, but he doesn't have DOOM's quality. Same goes for Del. But I could see liking the style of either more than DOOM. But 2001? That album's lyrics were pure garbage. Seriously, I was sad to see such genuinely nice production trashed by such shoddy mic work. I remember trading that album to my friend for the instrumental, which is much better.
