The final FFA fights give you shitloads of development points you can use to max out your stats and, if you finish the game in hard mode, max out your blazin' moves, which gives you more awards and creates an almost unbeatable character to school your friends with. At this point (before the FFA matches), you should've unlocked all fighters and venues.
