Interesting. While this is not my culture, I agree with it. I don't like the idea of my daughter growing up calling a family friend aunt or uncle. Seems a little strange to me. My best friend is a man and my daughter used to call him uncle, but now that she is getting older she is naturally stopping. She realizes he isn't actually her uncle.
I don't know. Seems kind of strange to me for that kid to be calling someone uncle when there is no blood relation.
