Top 10 Favorite Games of all time!
I know we've done this here before, but as time passes, we discover new and old games, and our opinions change and mature. I figure now is a good time to get this going once more, right before the start of the next generation of gaming. Let's try not to turn this into a flaming thread though. This isn't gamefaqs, so we should be ok. Be sure to include the game's platform with the title.
That said, are my all- time favorites. Games I enjoyed the most.
Edit: Everyone else had descriptions. I added some too
1. Lunar: The Silver Star Story (PSX remake) Few games have touched me like this one did. Just a beautiful game with a beautiful story.
2. Super Mario Brothers 3 (NES) The best Mario game ever made. Now probably my most played GBA game. Part of it's draw was that if you turned it off, you lost your place, so you kept playing for hours.
3. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Genesis) This was my most played Sonic. This was my first Sonic, and I spent soo much time playing it. Still do.
4. Final Fantasy VII (PSX) My first Final Fantasy. It's my favorite, as it is for many people, because it was my first.
5. Metal Gear Solid (PSX) It blew me away. I didn't get into it until I saw MGS2 screens actually... The graphics were better than most PSX games, and the story was among the best game stories ever told. Truly a cinematic experience.
6. Galaga (discovered it on NES) My dad's fav' game. He got me hooked. We had borrowed it from a friend of the family for NES. Then bought it when it came out on GameBoy. This is, next to Tetris, my most played GameBoy game.
7. Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2) I put off playing this for half a year. When I did, I was glad I waited, because I got it in the summer, and was able to play it through in almost one sitting. What was it, 18 hours? It's like watching a really long movie, and it holds your attention all the way though.
8. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (GB) Again, my first Zelda. I love the others I've played, but this one takes the cake.
9. Chrono Trigger (SNES) One of the best RPG's ever made.
10. Perfect Dark (N64) If this game could be ported to PC... Don't change the design. Maybe tweak the graphics a little. Mouse for control. It would be the only game I played. I still play it religiously. Wish it could be re-released for DS... It's a perfect game, but it's age is starting to show. I'll still play it into the next gen of gaming.
It's probably too early for me to add this, but I'll give honorable mention to CastleVania: Dawn of Sorrow for the DS. I don't like to list games I just bought in these lists though. This game is just incredible. In gameplay, better than Symphony. There's a bunch of other titles to mention, but I'm cutting myself off at 10. Who's next?
