I don't see how ripped off applies here, you should always check prices elsewhere before making a purchase, especially when buying from a "local computer shop" which to me means PC World, which isn't exactly the cheapest in the market. And as for the issue with the pixels, as Dilbert says, that is usually the standard with a lot of TFT manufacturers where it concerns replacement for stuck/dead pixels. I think there are different classes of screen where the class dictates the number of dead pixels that are acceptable for each different class, think I read that on Toms Hardware.
