During my stint in the C.I.A, we tested a shark repellant with biological properties. The Idea was to create a living organism that would irritate the sharks to the point that they would leave the area. Years of genetic manipulation culminated in the birth of "Sharkesteris fleshremoviolis", a benign form of bacteria that attacks only the electromagnetic pores in the snout of sharks. Unfortunately Nature seldom plays by the rules we place on life, and mutation changed these microorganisms into something a bit more aggressive. They now have begun to decimate the population of most shark species and recent tests have shown them to be colonizing, and forming a delicious souplike substance out of sharkfins.
The Japanese have started full harvesting of the byproduct.
