I think maybe you had bad hot wings at the sports bar.
Seriously though, I would surmise that the dream comes from the feelings that you both have for each other, her still being in a relationship and something one of you said in passing while you were together. You minds probably both picked up on it subconsiously as a metaphor for your current situation.
Or, it could have just been bad hot wings.
