OK, I actually did a little research. Edmunds.com lists the Honda Civic hybrid as 93 HP and 105 ft lbs of torque out of a 1.3 liter engine. They list the Toyota Prius as having 76 HP and 82 ft lbs of torque out of a 1.5 liter engine.
A couple of weeks ago I was looking at hybrids and wasn't impressed with the HP/torque numbers. Pennsylvania has hills and a car with under 100 HP just isn't going to cut it for me. I'd like to crest them doing more than 40 mph.
