What is "second base?"
I'm just wondering, because I've heard this term many times as a euphemism for some minor act of sexual contact, but have never quite been sure as to what exactly it means. I've always assumed that it means letting your date touch your boobs, is this correct?
Also, if there is a "second base", does that mean that there is a "third base" and a "first base", a "home plate"? I've always assumed there must be, Paradise by the Dashboard Light makes no sense whatsoever.
The only term I'm sure of is "struck out", which means, if I understand it correctly, "being turned down for a date". Would this mean that when someone is asking someone else out, that they are "at bat"?
Or is it just those two baseball terms that apply, and the others are irrelevant.
For someone who has at least a couple of baseball books* as favorites, I really don't understand this game much.
