That's just a big, suspended-in-mid-air orange. Anyone can see that.
On a more serious note, I really like this photograph. The atmosphere of it is perfect for the subject. Did you use a filter for this? The effect looks similar to something I saw in a movie that I'm too skiddish to use right now.
The technique involved taking vaseline and putting it on the lens then wiping it off in a circular motion with a soft tissue. The idea was to leave graduating amounts of vaseline as one worked towards the edge of the lens so there was virtually none in the center and just a bit on the outer edges. What was left gave a similar effect to what you've done here.
