I can't rememebr owning many comics until a kid in highschool told me I had to read this and handed me... Watchmen.
I pretty quickly collected alot more Alan Moore (V for Vendetta being a fave.), but stayed away from the other stuff till I found a comic store I liked and started looking at the trade paperbacks.
I'd say I have around 100-150 of them now. I've given up on alot of the more "commercial" stuff (although Grant Morrison doesn't disappoint and I'd like to look into Joss Whedon's X-men Series, even though I'm not a big X-men fan). The two series I keep up with these days are The Walking Dead and Y-The Last Man.
I'd love to see The Walking Dead as a tv series, but why go animation? It could be done with actors just as well. It's the writing that gets to me. Even though the caracters are put in this "fantasy" situation, they act very human and have very human problems.
Glad you started this thread Grendel and if I had a hand in anyone picking up this series, I'm glad of that too.
