Even after married and living on my own, my wife and I would be discrete about any type of sexual activity in my house or her parents---nothing rowdy. It's about respect, as d*d said.
And as for having to adjust your plans, wait until YOU'RE the parent; you'll understand all the better about having romantic intentions changed by the youngling.
