I think it has a lot to do with age and if you have lived on your own for a while.
Before I moved out of home (at 17) I wouldn't dream of expecting my parents to not be concerned about me 'fooling around'...
I moved back home when I was nearly 23 and I had my daughter... so I spent a couple of years living as a hermit before my mother told me I needed to 'go out and play up like a second hand lawn-mower'... wtf ???
What I am saying is that it depends greatly on circumstances and your relationship with your parents. Have you thought about discussing this with your parents?
I do believe that it is their house and they have the final say in what they can and cannot live with under their roof. While you are living there they will still need to express their values and you need to respect that for what it is... even if you disagree with them.
