So the Waking Dead is a zombie story? I'll have to check it out.

I recommend "The Fixer" by Joe Sacco. It's non-fiction and probably not appropriate for children. I really dig his drawing style, kind of a R.Crumb style realism.

I'm also really digging "the Invisibles" on DC's Vertigo imprint. Apparently it was pretty influential on the first Matrix movie. I found about 55 issues online and am on issue 6. They changed pencilers after issue 4 which was kind of a let down, but the writing is great, definitely aimed at adults.
