As evidenced by many of my other threads, I'm looking to build a computer. I've decided on the
Athlon XP2500+ Barton Core processor and the
MSI KT4V-L 6712 motherboard. The Barton proc has been shown to be easily overclocked to 12.5x166 with barely no overdraw on anything. (I'm not even sure if I'm going to do this, and if I do it won't be until it's been running stable for a month or so). I'm getting 512mb of pc2700 Corsair ram (although it's valueRAM not XMS -- I'm on a budget here :-D). Now that I've decided on all this, I'm wondering what power supply I should get. I'm going to run two optical drives and two hard drives, along with a floppy and the max number of fans the case can handle. The case I've been looking at is
here, a Chieftec. It comes with a 430-watt supply, though it's a foxconn. I've also been looking at cases such as
this, but for that price I'm worried they won't be good quality. I've also been looking at Antec's
LANboy and other cases, and I'm not opposed to buying a case and power supply separately, though I'd like to buy from newegg. All I know about power supplies is that Antec is a good brand, and I probably need at least 350 watts. As you can see from my case choices, I want a window, I want a few 3.5" bays, and I'd prefer aluminum. Thanks for your input in advance.
