O.K., if adding an exhaust to a car does not improve horsepower/tourque, than how could companies like HKS, GReddy, Thermal R&D, etc. make a living selling their exhaust systems. These companies have invested tons of research and developement hours designing and testing different techniques to improve the flow of spent exhaust fumes. Check some magazines that do buildup cars using dyno's to watch as the horsepower/torque curves climb simply by adding such things as intakes, exhausts, even spark plugs, or coil boosters. Not ALL of the aftermarket is about rumbling 'bumblebee exhausts' and 20" wheels on compact cars, some of it actually DOES improve power, and overall performance!
