Does the Zep flea killer have any phone numbers on the container that you can call. You could call and ask the manufacturer if the idea would work.
The other problem with putting it in your machine is that if it's sticky in any way it could really gum up the works in your shampooer. I would be wary of that. I would probably shampoo your carpet well and then while it's still wet soak it again with the Zep chemical. Later shampoo again because I personally could not imagine living in Flea killer chemicals being al that healthy. Got a Mom you can go stay with for a week??
