Tie game goes to a 5 on 5. If game is still a tie it goes to a shoot out. I would even go with 4 on 4 and then shoot out if its still tied.
Get rid of the 1 point for a tie during regulation.

well i think most of those rules will be up for discussion when the players meet to sign the agreement on friday, maybe not icing though, i think if only one rule is going to be changed i want the shrink the goalie pads to pass, im sick of seeing these fairly immoblie goalies(immoblie because there pads take up the entire net) with all these giant pads on...and also stop making the crease bigger that is the worst idea the nhl ever had
