Jobs are hard to come by if you don't have connections or experience in related fields. At least that's what i've been noticing. All my friends who have jobs got them from people they know, or through their Universities, with the possible exception of one or two.
All of the jobs i've gotten were through people I knew. Or people I knew recommending me to the higher ups.
And as such, i've been tempted not to try to get a different job outside of what I do now, since my current job pays higher than minimum wage and has some other benefits. But i've sworn to myself that I will at least try to get a job on my own (as opposed to one just given to me) next summer. This will give me time to work on my resume, which hasn't been touched in 2-3 years.
