Re the camera: This is the simplest way: When I plug my camera in and turn it on, it appears as a "removable drive" icon on my desktop. By double-clicking on the icon, I can browse it and drag files (pics) from it to my Mac.
Re Graphics Convertor; I use it and for the price, it's great. It has one of the lowest loss rates for converting pics (rotating, for example) of any program on the Mac platform.
