Generally I favor open competition between manufacturers in all facets of racing, but a single tire supplier is something that I definitely favor. Tire competition has always resulted in much faster speeds, higher cost, higher tire wear and more tire failures, regardless of whether we are talking F1, Indy cars, or NASCAR.
I like the move to lower profile tires with larger diameter wheels. I always thought the current wheels look way too small in proportion with the rest of the car. I don't agree with getting rid of the tire warmers, I've seen enough wrecks in other race series caused by cold tires that arent up to pressure and temperature yet. I actually think other race series would benefit from tire warmers. Getting rid of downforce is a good idea if done right, but this year in NASCAR is proof that reducing downforce doesn't help if all it does is make the car undriveable.
