If you don't like iChat, try AdiumX. It supports a crapload of IM programs.
As for the digital camera, you can download them from the camera using the Image Capture app, and you can even set it up to make a website of the pics. Check out the "Help" files for more info.
And, we're glad you've switched. (to the better choice)
