One requires a pretty obvious train of thought.
Hijackers take over some planes. (easy)
They fly planes into buildings (easish)
Buildings fall down go boom (hard to fully explain but its not like we have ever had a building that tall attacked to learn from).
Or the other side of the coin...
Hijackers are somehow in league with or pawns of the evil Neocons/illuminati/trilateral commission.
Since someone thinks planes are not enough, they decide to rig these gigantic and occupied 24/7 buildings for demolition, without alerting anyone like the well trained maintenance people who would need to run such a building. They would then have to use them at the right time, in a non-obvious way (no secondary visible explosions) and hope this secret demolition work works 100% because if they don't bring down the building, they will be left as visible evidence.
Then these people involved (and there would need to be several) would have to all keep quiet about what would be the greatest crime against ones own people in a democracy of the modern age.
So basically we are talking about a team of evil geniuses doing this for vague motives, able to fool everyone, and having an absolute strict code of silence.
At least with Pearl Harbor the conspiracy aficionados only try to say that FDR knew it was going to happen, not that we planted bombs on our own ships!
