Tyson likely would not have gone undefeated if he fought the champions of the 90's with or without Don King. Riddick Bowe is much taller and bigger than Tyson, and he would have worked him from a far just as Lennox Lewis did in Memphis years back. I do think, and it seems apparent, that Mike Tyson spent the prime of his career in jail. He has not beat a contender since he was released and just hasn’t shown much of his previous ability. Holyfield knocked him out the first time, and Tyson resorted to guerilla tactics when he realized that Holyfield was going to win the second fight too. Lennox Lewis just beat the shit out of an even worse Tyson than Holyfield saw.
I saw the fight last night; it was odd that he even agreed to fight a man so much taller and heavier. McBride leaned on him and held him for the entire fight. Tyson started to tire out in the 5th and 6th, and looked as if he was on the verge of being knocked out. I don't blame him for head-butting McBride or twisting his arm; I can imagine it is very frustrating to be repeatedly held when all you want is a little space to, god forbid, actually box. Good tactic my McBride, but just frustrating and boring to watch. Nonetheless, McBride isn't anything special, and Tyson hasn't been in over 10 years.
