A lot of us have been on tv for one reason or another. No matter how small the appearance, it's always exciting. So share your brushes with stardom here.
My first incident happened when I was a little kid. You know how the news will sometimes film a random lawn with the sprinkler on while they display temperatures? Well, they chose my parents' lawn, and I saw them out there. So I ran outside and casually sat on the fron steps. So there I was behind the text on tv.
Late, in high school, I was at a concert at a local club. Apparently the concert was being filmed, because I later turned up on public access television singing along and generally making a fool of myself.
In college we were struck by an ice storm. Texas has no way to deal with ice so classes were cancelled and driving was dangerous. So of course I decide to go walking with a friend to the used CD store across from campus. Well, the local news crew was filming the intersection for their story on the ice storm. So there we were on the news, just crossing the street.
Now this last story is actually cool. See, I'm a hug Bruce Campbell fan. I had gone to a convention in Dallas where he was making an appearance. I was approached by a small camera crew (probably because of my Evil Dead shirt) who started asking me questions about my fandom. I did my part and wondered if I would ever see the footage. Turns out the footage was used in Bruce's documentary called Fanalysis. So I've been immortalized on my Evil Dead special edition DVD. I don't think I'll be able to top that, no matter how many local weather stories are shown.
So there's my 15 minutes of fame. Now share yours...
