Alright, here's how it works. Us guys have an easier job than women orgasming, mostly because we're a lot more comfortable with it. But if you're tired and stressed out, such as you might be with a newborn child in the house it's very possible that you just won't be able to.
If your wife's extra weight is bothering you that much, you might try being proactive about it (assuming you're not already). Try asking her to go for walks with you, work out together. You'll feel better, she'll feel better, you'll get to spend time together and the weight doesn't need to be a big deal - you don't even need to bring it up (I'd recommend against it, really).
Time alone will help you both relax and being relaxed will lead to better sex. Even so, I'd say try talking to your wife about it. Let her know that it's not her fault and that you still enjoy sex.
And do that, too. Enjoy sex and don't think about orgasming. It's not the destination, it's the journey!
