Converting PAL DVD to NTSC

I've looked around but have not been able to find any clear cut guides to doing this, so I'm hoping I can find some help here.

I have two PAL DVDs which I would like to convert to NTSC so I can burn them and be able to watch them on my DVD player (currently my PS2 ). One is an ISO, the other is in the form of a folder containing both AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders. (Side question: wtf is the AUDIO_TS folder for anyway? Every DVD I've seen with one has it completely empty - or so it seems at least.) Anyhow, I would like to convert both of these DVDs to NTSC and am grateful for any help I can get

P.S. I have pretty much no experience in DVD stuff - I've never even ripped a DVD to DivX - so I'm a total n00b when it comes to all this.
