I haven't stayed there but I've checked it out... it is a block or two from my office.
The place looks nice. Try to see if you can get one with a view of the lake... I imagine it would be nice to look out over the Islands in the morning...
Not too much in the way of massages in the neighbourhood. I was going to recomend the Stillwater at the Hyatt or the Elmwood Spa.
Just a note... when I was married, we didn't get to the hotel until about 12:30 or 1 am... it had been a very full day... after a very quick bath and some sex we were out cold... exhausted.
The next morning we sort of slept late and realized we only had a few hours until we had to check out. I agree with your approach on getting your own flowers and champagne, etc. Much more economical... One thing, don't do it yourself. Make one of your groomsmen or a family member set up the room for you... you will have enough to worry about besides driving to the hotel and and setting up all the flowers and stuff... you are getting married.
