It's true, and it's amazing how much more fun it makes the game. One thing I really hate in games is where there is one hard guy that jumps out around the same corner and caps me over and over again. With the random placement, you never know where that guy is, so it's not frustrating as hell when you find him. Plus, it gives you a chance to take him out from a different angle the next time.
The thing about the random placement I like the most, is that it never feels like you're doing the same thing over when you fail. Usually, once I've played a map enough, I get used to where everone is and I just run through a map taking perfect headshots at every enemy. With this one, it's a challenge every single time. You never know what's around the hall or through the next door.
By the way, I really like this game. It's added a whole new dimention to the FPS for me. I'm so used to just running in and shooting everything that moves, or unconditionally killing the bad guys. In this one, you actually get more points for not killing them... but then sometimes, you have to. There are many times where you have just a split second to figure out if the person running right at you is trying to kill you, or get away from a mad man in the next room. It's also really rewarding when you clear an entire map without killing a single person, because it is usally very difficult. One time I tried stunning a guy with a flash bang, but he just kept running... so I gassed him with pepper spray, which slowed him down, but he refused to drop his gun, so I shot him in the leg with a pistol, and he finally surrendered and lived.
Awesome game. Really, if you like FPS, but also like strategy games, this is way cool.
