I've done the reverse with no issues on PC. I have a USB HD enclosure with a Western Ditigal 200GB HD and I use DVDShrink and store the iso it creates in the USB HD. Then I burn (using internal DVD writer) the DVD using "Burn Image to Disc" and select the file on the USB HD.
So, speed shouldnt be the issue. Could it just be a crap DVD writer? Personally, I've only had Memorex and Sony DVD writers and had no issues with either.
