Bangkok has good shopping for men's clothing. I changed my entire wardrobe for about US$200.
Electronics really is the realm of Singapore at the bottom of the Malayan penisula.
both places have good food, Malaysia will have some different "quasi-chinese" Nonya food.
Malaysia is quite poor. Thailand also poor, but there's lots of ornate golden temples.
My vote is Bangkok. Enjoy a night out in Patpong.
