It's interesting though listening to the pundits. The sponsorship mess was somehow brainstormed to let Quebec see that the rest of Canada loves them unconditionally in all their distinctness, yet now Quebecers now feel insulted and seperatist rumblings are gaining strength. I think Jane Taber quiped something like, 'Well if Quebec gets to much support from Canada it feels it loses its identity but to little support and they feel abandoned and wrong done by.' Kinda like can't win for trying.

How about this OFKU0: Let Canada vote whether or not to kick Quebec out of the country. It won't be initiated by Quebecers, so if Quebec ends up staying part of Canada, then no province would have any reason to bitch again about how much money is being sent there.
The current scandal is obviously proof of the corruption of the Liberal government, and Quebec DOES receive great sums of money for "cultural development / preservation", but I hope you refer to Quebec's administration and not its people when you say we're a bunch of cry babies. Ti-Guy Tremblay working the fields in the Saguenay region doesn't give a shit about how much money his province is getting to "protect French". He always spoke it and always will. On the other hand, people who want to be competitive and culturally aware choose to learn English (and as many other languages as possible), while knowing that their choice doesn't devalue their identity.
Personally, I believe the seperatist movement is dead. If it didn't happen in the early 80's, when indignation was somewhat justified, then it's NEVER going to happen. If we had another referendum, my vote would be to stay in Canada. Can you believe that? A francophone wants to STAY in Canada! Wow! That's right, there's more of us than you think. Want proof? Quebec is still with Canada.
IMO, the sole useful purpose of the Bloc is to act as a bulwark against the Liberals and Conservatives (I don't count the NDP). If it wasn't there, then it would either be the rampant backstage antics of the Liberals or the unrestrained right-wing agenda of the Conservatives. Take your pick.
