Abs diet? Do you mean a diet that will help one gain exposure of their abdominals? If you do, then eating that much will definately hinder your progress. The problems that people usually have with abs is getting rid of that layer of fat between their abs and their skin. Some people also think that if they work their abs enough they will just peek through that fat, this however, is wrong. As for the gaining weight part you are probably gaining more muscle-weight (if you are working out that is). As you probably know muscle-weight is heavier that fat-weight. If you are not working out, well, then I would reccomend cutting back on the eating. On days that I dont work out I usually dont eat too much either (eccept for breakfast). This advice is good if you are trying to stay fit and trim; if you are trying to gain some mass muscle weight then stay right on what you are doing. You might end up with a gut by the time you are done though, especially if you persist in abstaining from working out some days.
