Dude, that would be, like, so totally.... coooool if the Bong Party won the election.
On a serious note, the advantage of having several parties (unlike the states and their Kang and Kodos fiasco) is that if LOTS OF PEOPLE vote for the MJ party but they dont win a single seat (possible) it is like having a little tiny referendum.
But in this case it would be a 'reeferendum'
Im sorry. I'm in a weird mood today.
If the MJ party got like 30% of the vote, the same as the NDP but not as much as the PC's (sorry, not up on BC parties too much) and the PC's won the seat, what have the voters told the PC party AND the NDP?
They had better wake up and start taking the MJ platform seriously, and if they incorporate it into their own, they will win more votes.
The bad news is if that the voters accidentally vote in some nut-job as a protest vote and he goes cukoo for cocoa puffs in the legislature, they can point to him and dismiss the whole party and platform as stupid and irrelevant. Don't vote for a nut-job as a protest vote. Look what happened to us in Saskatchewan and the Alliance...
One final thing, belonging to Tilted Politics and Paranoia, but those yanks would not understand so I say it here: Anyone ever get freaked out that the Canadian Alliance sounds just like the Rebel Alliance off of Star Wars?
