It depends what the mandate of the cinema is...
If its mandate is to spread the gospel of science, regardless of the cost (i.e. they have an annual budget to screen whatever they feel is relevant) then it should screen whatever they feel like
However, it it has to turn a profit (i.e. be self sustaining), they should be conscious of their audience. A small town cinema that only shows art house films (read: foreign films) isn't going to survive. They need to be aware of what will bring in the audience.
This isn't the same as a the Science Centre proper not having a display about the same topic. Most Science Centre's with IMAX cinemas do not include admission to their cinema as part of admission to the Science Centre.
