Damn I am drooling over FIOS. I live in a rural area and get the pleasure of having dial-up that connects at a whopping 26K.

I wouldn't really consider this new technology. All it does is extend fiber "the last mile" to your home. Everything's already going for the long haul on fiber anyway; FIOS just gets it to your home without copper slowing everything down.
