Versailles is pretty interesting. I don't think it is that far out of Paris. The palace is huge and the grounds are pretty interesting. This is supposed to have been the most elaborate palace in Europe and was part of the motivation for the French revolution. The part of the tour I went on inside had gold leaf and chandeliers everywhere. The hall of mirrors was my favorite part of the inside tour.
