Your post sort of confused me, but I can assure you this: the 5-10 FPS increase from the CAS settings is bullshit.
5 FPS MAX and not even on average...average would probably be 1-2 FPS increase. Not worth it. Just get a total of 1 GB of RAM however you do it...games want a fuckton of RAM moreso than a nice processor. Another major system aspect is your videocard. A nice videocard will double or triple your FPS depending on how bad your old one is.
