Practice Practice Practice. Know that the lines of the staff represent the same notes as the strings on a guitar, and the open spaces spell F A C E. Find some music you already know and read it, try to get used to sightreading. Then try some stuff you're familiar with but don't know very well to build up your skill at being able to sight read.
