I never could get to "marathon" level training. Tried my darndest but my body just isn't cut out for it. I can run 1-2 miles every day, and throw in the occasional five mile run, but I absolutely can not get into the regime required for a marathon. Maybe it's due to my low regular mileage that I don't have any problems, who knows. Like you said, everyone is different.
We have a few of the older folks who go out regularly. I'd love to make it that long, running when I'm that old is a bonus!
