Hmmm. Sounds like his problem. I don't think that there is much you can do on your end. It's not like you can allow him to go deeper then possible. I have a feeling that maybe he has had this problem before??
I have only been with one guy that was very large and I really didn't see the benifit to it for me. It hurt more then anything else.
I think maybe the two of you will have to get creative with this and think about different ways for him to get off that are just as satisfying.
