There could be many reasons why she gave you that beer on the house, including guilt for having pretended not to hear you the first time. No offense, but if a guy calls me by something other than my name, sometimes it rubs me the wrong way, no matter whether the name was a compliment or not. I'm not trying to stir up a big debate about that, just saying that I could imagine a scenario where she didn't respond because she was a little put off, then realized that she needed to remember she was a bartender after all.
You never know what's going on in people's minds. I've learned after many, many experiences that when it's "sex" in a man's mind, it could be any number of other things in the woman's mind.
