According to Car&Driver, the CHP will soon be testing a new V10 Crown Vic powered by Natural Gas that makes 500+ horsepower and high 600's for torque. It is expected to be efficient enough to recoup the extra cost in only a few years.
Around here, you just have to watch out for the State Police Z28's, Z06's and the Viper. A Viper coming up in your rearview mirror with blue and red lights flashing is one of the most intimidating things you'll ever see.
