1) It was not a check-point, it was a patrol.
2) It was dusk
3) There was "less than a second" between the warning shots and the hail of bullets that killed the adults.
I should like to see you
i) react to warning shots
ii) bring a car to a safe stop
iii) raise your hands
iv) show your civilan status
all in less than a second.
