You do NOT need to put the computer name in the user/password field.
As long as both computers are on the same network(domain/workgroup), this is how I do things:
computer 1 is the one that you are using
computer 2 is the one that you are trying to access
option 1:
a) on computer 2, setup a user/password that is the SAME as the one on computer 1
b) Grant proper permissions
c) once everything is setup properly computer 1 should be able to access computer 2 with no problems
option 2:
a) on computer 1, when you try to access computer 2 and get the user/pass dialog, enter in the user/pass for Computer 2 and you should be ok.
b) you should now be able to access computer 2 from computer 1 if the user/pass is correct
Now, if you still have problems after the above, please piost and we can try to figure out if either a) I missed/botched the instructions or b) you have other issues that need to be resolved.
Notes: because of wacky name resolution issues I also have ipx/netbios running on my network, and this could possibly cause other differences in what i've said.
