Hurricane Season in the Carribbean is generally from July - September (I think) This past year, was a tough year for hurricanes, but you might get lucky.

The Caymans, should have recovered but who knows what next year will bring.

Australia is a beautiful destination... though August, it's their winter... so parking on the beach might not be an option... (Cairns might stay hot year round though)

San Diego is beautiful, a little touristy, but the weather is superb.

I'd probably suggest Napa, the wine country in California, it's not ocean front, but there are a lot of beautiful small inns, with superb restaurants, and spectacular views.
