Well, questions regarding the quality of mp3 aside, this thread *is* about iTunes and Quicktime, so I think it's fair to say that the DRM nullifies any comment that using iTunes to not deal with mp3 any longer is a good thing. No matter what the merits of AAC may be when used alone, songs from iTunes music store have DRM. I'll stick with "good enough" mp3 instead - not to mention that I can play mp3s, and even oggs, in far more and more convenient places than I can play AAC.
