Ok I'll put in my few cents here. I believe this "myth" comes from the fact that all the best games for nintendo systems are usually rated E. Theres not a single game rated M in the top 10 selling gamecube games. On the other side PS2 and Xbox have many M rated games on their top lists. Though this doesn't make nintendo systems for children necessarily, it certainly does make them more family friendly.
