First thing’s first, see your doctor. If it is indeed eczema, he or she will most probably prescribe a mild steroid based topical ointment which you’ll need to put on sparingly once or twice as day. As you’ll be using minimal amount of the ointment and it will be absorbed straight into the skin, there’s no real chance that it’ll get into your eyes. So don’t stress about that.
Also, you’ve really got to work on not scratching. I know from experience that it’s insanely difficult but it helps with recovery. There are a few things you can try to help with this. Whenever you feel it being itchy, place pressure with your finger tips on the area and count to thirty. Then, put pressure on some other part of your body in the same manner, your arm for example. This acts as a simple little distracter. Also, one other tip; keep your fingernails as short as possible.
